Melissa Mellecker Becker was a two-sport athlete for Simpson. She was a two-year letterwinner for the track team from 1991-92, and she was also a four-year letterwinner for the volleyball team from 1990-93. In 1991 she earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the volleyball team, earned Cosida Academic Second Team All-American honors in 1991 and '92, and was an NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship Winner in 1992. On the track Mellecker was an outdoor All-American heptathlete, placing 7th in 1992.
