When Chris Donohue’s baseball career at Simpson came to a close in 1994, he left as the school’s winningest pitcher with 25 career wins. A four-year letterwinner for the Storm from 1991-94, Donohue enjoyed some of the most successful seasons in Simpson baseball history, as he was a part of the teams that won the Iowa Conference Championship in 1991 and 1994 while making three trips to the NCAA Tournament (1991, 1992, 1994). After earning Second Team All-Iowa Conference honors as a junior in 1993, Donohue put together a record-setting season in 1994. With a Simpson single-season high 10 wins, the senior pitcher led Simpson to a 30-9 record, both the Iowa Conference regular season and tournament championships and a trip to the NCAA Regional Tournament. On the way, Donohue garnered First Team All-Iowa Conference and first-team all-region honors. A Dean’s List-caliber student, Donohue was also a member of the accounting club and graduated from Simpson in 1994 with a degree in accounting. He is currently a controller at Heritage Microfilm, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he took a newly created position in a fast growing company. He has created all accounting policies for Heritage Microfilm and manages the finance department of four individuals. He also manages three commercial properties and a horse farm. Outside of work, Donohue has coached numerous youth sports teams, is a youth leader at his church and a member of the church finance committee. Donohue resides Marion, Iowa with his wife, Melanie, and their three children, Blake, Brady and Alexandra.
