Bio
Only a handful of student-athletes who have worn Simpson Red and Gold can call themselves a national champion. Sara Brookhart is one of the few.

Possessing the rare combination of speed and power, Brookhart enjoyed a successful three-year run as a member of the Storm softball team from 1999-2001. She made an immediate impact after transferring from Grand View for her sophomore season in 1999, hitting .376 with three home runs and 28 RBIs as Simpson won its second Division III National Championship in three years. The first team all-Iowa Conference outfielder showcased her power in the championship run with a 260-foot home run in a 4-1 win over Rowan.

Brookhart put together an All-American season in 2000, hitting .385 with three home runs, 28 RBIs and 31 stolen bases. She hit .310 with two home runs and 11 RBIs as a senior, earning second team all-conference honors. She closed her career as a .363 hitter, currently 10th all-time at Simpson. Her 45 stolen bases are the third-most in school history.

Originally from Des Moines, Iowa, Brookhart graduated from Simpson with a degree in sociology.
