A key piece to Simpson’s unparalleled success in women’s golf in the 1990s and 2000s was Fay Bradley Parkins ‘01. Parkins was a steady presence in coach Bob Darrah’s lineup, earning All-Iowa Conference honors in each of her four seasons, including third-place finishes in 1997, 1998 and 2000. She helped the Storm win Iowa Conference Championships in 1997, 1998 and 1999, part of a streak of four-straight titles. She went on to earn Second Team All-America honors twice as Simpson advanced to the NCAA Championship in each of her four seasons on the course. Parkins graduated from Simpson 2001 with a degree in accounting.
