KNIA/KRLS Radio to cover Simpson athletics

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Beginning with the 2015 football season, KNIA/KRLS Radio is the new voice of the Simpson Storm.

The Knoxville-based station will air all 10 football games – plus postseason – with the possibility of extending coverage into the winter and spring seasons.

“This is a great move to widen the coverage of our teams and remarkable student-athletes,” Athletics Communication Director Bryan Geelan said. “Not only will our fans have a new source to follow the Storm, but they will also enjoy enhancements to our existing video streaming service.”

With the partnership, fans can follow the Storm in more ways than ever before.

Games can be heard on the AM (1320) and FM (95.3) radio dial, online at www.kniakrls.com, and on the KNIA mobile app. In addition to the radio station’s extensive coverage, fans can also enjoy the broadcasts - along with video - through the Live Video Portal on www.simpsonathletics.com.

Indianola resident Rick Wilson will handle play-by-play duties, while color commentary will be handled by Paul Davis, former defensive line coach for the Storm.

The first broadcast will be this Saturday, Sept. 5 when Simpson hosts Wisconsin-River Falls at Buxton Stadium. Pregame begins at 12:35 p.m. with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
