Feature Friday: head dance coach Lindsay Taylor

Indianola, Iowa -- Get to know Simpson head dance coach, Lindsay Taylor, in our latest edition of Feature Friday. Taylor just finished her first season leading the Storm as the dance team won the pom division at the American Rivers Conference Invitational this past winter.

In what city/state did you grow up in?

• Omaha, Nebraska

What college(s) did you attend?

• Simpson College

• Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys

Favorite athlete?

• I'm a fan of Zion Williamson right now! But also, the G.O.A.T. — Lebron James.

Items you can't live without?

• My planner — I'm an organized freak; my cell phone — I love to be connected.

Favorite vacation spot?

• Anywhere with warm temperatures and a beach!

Favorite spot on campus?

• The dance studio has always been my favorite spot to get away on campus. I also love central campus, the trees and buildings are so pretty, especially in the fall!

Favorite thing about Simpson?

• The people and the community are one of a kind! Everyone makes you feel so welcome and at home from day one.

Family?

• Not yet. I just got engaged and am planing to get married in 2021!

What would you be doing if you were not coaching?

• ​I have a full-time job in marketing, so would probably be focusing on that, but I've always said I would love to be a member of a professional dance team in the NFL!

Best athletic moment?

• Placing first in pom at state with the dance team for the first time in school history my senior year at Simpson. We had worked so hard for that moment and it was so rewarding.

Who would play you in a movie?

• Sadie Robinson from Duck Dynasty — everyone says we look alike!

One thing people don't know about you?

• I am obsessed with pigs, mini pigs to be specific. I think they are so cute and funny!

Hobbies outside of coaching?

• Running, shopping at Target, spending time with friends and family, and watching Modern Family.

Role model(s) and why?

• My mom — she has such a passion for helping others and will do anything she can to do that. My dad — whatever the problem is, he has a solution and won't give up until it's fixed.
