November Student-Athletes of the Month: Briana McCloskey and Nathan Schneider

Briana McCloskey finished the cross country season with a career-best effort and Nathan Schneider took home five wins in the pool as the duo was named Student-Athletes of the Month for November 2014.

A sophomore from Sierra Vista, Ariz., McCloskey got stronger as the season came to a close, leading the Storm at both the Iowa Conference and NCAA Central Region Championships. She placed 19th at the conference meet, but saved her best for the final race of the season. She ran a career-best 6k (23:38.4) to place 69th, improving 74 places from the same meet a year earlier. With her efforts, Simpson placed 19th, the team's best finish since 2010.

A senior from Clive, Iowa, Schneider won five races in three competitions during the month. The distance swimmer went 4-0 in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle at Coe and Loras and won the 200 individual medley at the Beloit/Ripon double dual. He added third-place finishes in the 100 and 200 backstroke at Beloit to help Simpson pick up a pair of dual wins.
